don't know if this really in right place, but my 4 month old who is breast fed, for the last 1 week has been producing abnormally smelly mucousy poos. THere is no increase in quantity, I have not changed my diet and he is well otherwise......anyone else had similar?? My HV said it might be all the extra saliva he is digesting cos he is possibly 'teething' but hmmmm......not sure i really belive it.

I remember this happening with teething - and it would smell kind of vinegary. Give it a week or so and you might see a tooth (in the mouth I mean not in the poo...!) and it will calm down - if not, you could see the GP, but if the baby seems well it's probably nothing.
