Hi broke my ankle on holiday! Having to find ways of coping as absconded from hospital a bit wobbly on crutches as the hospital was a bit like colditz! For anyone that is usually active and healthy to suddenly have to cope not being as mobile, what things did you buy or acquire to help you survive the Time that you cannot weight bear! I have bought a cast cover, shower seat, suction grabber, raised toilet seat and bed table. Want to live as normally as possible but still in early stages of coming to terms with temporary immobility. I have also been signed off work for 6 weeks. I can work from home but dr said I cannot sit for 7 hours working at a desk with broken leg. Anyone had their company taking exception? Thx

Get a peg leg. peglegs.co.uk/iwalk3-vs-iwalk2/

I'm now 5 weeks post surgery and it's a godsend.

I won't pretend I'm not still frustrated though. Good luck with your recovery.

When I broke both my foot and ankle at same time, I rented (borrowed) a wheel chair from the Red Cross. I could cook, do laundry, dishes etc using it. Made getting to the loo much quicker. I also bought a cryo cuff and the requisite cooler -amazing for psi /swelling.

The other aids you have I also had and really helped.

Getting a good position to sit and keeping foot/leg raised (and supported) will help you work from home.
