Anyone got idea what these dry patches on my foot could be?

I noticed these a few weeks ago and am worried it is something serious. I will book a GP appointment just curious if anyone has any ideas.

Anyone got idea what these dry patches on my foot could be?

Could it be sun burn?

SilenceOfTheNaans · 21/06/2021 09:02

My first thought was sunburn too

Plantsandwine · 21/06/2021 09:04

I have been out in the sun on walks etc and have been wearing my flip flops so could be that. There are no marks on my other foot. I have used Google and now am so worried.

It's peeling after sunburn or too much sun.

Bringmemoonshine · 21/06/2021 09:06

How odd - that could be my foot! I have the exact same thing on my left foot. Has been there for a couple of months. I thought maybe eczema, which I’ve never had before. Some time s it’s very itchy. I haven’t seen a Gp as I keep hoping it will disappear.

Plantsandwine · 21/06/2021 09:08

Oh these messages make me feel so much better, thank you.
I definitely have a tan on that foot (and also some dry skin as you can see).
@bringmemoonshine it is my left foot too.

I'm sorry, I don't think that's sunburn at all. I think it's something more serious.

At our surgery you can go online to book an appointment and you can attach a photo. I'd actually attach it and get it logged so it's on your GPs surgery system. see what they say,

Do you think it looks cancerous? 😭

I think its a fungal infection. Sudocream is good for this kind of thing and certainly not harmful. I'd try that first.

Theworldisfullofgs · 21/06/2021 09:13

If it is, it's quite easily spread but not serious. Just wash your hands and try not to touch it or scratch one foot with the other foot.

Plantsandwine · 21/06/2021 09:15

@theworldisfullodgps this is tmi but I do have some sort of fungal infection on the toenails on that foot (as seen by thr awful photo)

Have you tried moisturiser, something like O'Keefe's or Eucerin?

I have just looked online and mine do the same so I have sent a photo to them and should hear back in 24 hours. I really really hope it isn't anything really dangerous 😔

And I wasn’t worried til I clicked on this thread - now I’m waiting for a call from my GP!

We will have to let each other know how it went. Hopefully we are both fine 🙂

Didn't want to worry you. I have zero medical qualifications.
No I didn't think cancer. I thought ...... fungal? Or a dry skin condition ..... like ??? psoriasis? I just think a gp should see it, so glad you've done that.

Don't worry I don't think you're going to keel over and die before your GP appointment! Grin

Bringmemoonshine · 21/06/2021 18:57

@Plantsandwine Just spoken to GP who looked at my photo and thinks possibly eczema or fungal. Prescribing Daktarin and hopes that will clear it up.

Plantsandwine · 21/06/2021 19:15

@oblomov21 thank you for your reply. I always assume the worse, but it does seem it might be fungal like you have said.
@bringmemoonshine so happy that it doesn't seem to be anything serious. Good that you got it checked out. I have to wait until next Tuesday for my appointment 🤦‍♀️but hopefully they say the same thing! Sorry for worrying you.

@Plantsandwine Thank you for posting- it was the push I needed to do something about it! Sorry you have to wait a week! My surgery is currently only doing on the day phone consultations. You can’t book ahead at all and they can’t say when you’ll get a call back so was waiting all day!

Plantsandwine · 30/06/2021 09:51

@bringmemoonshine I just went to the doctors and she said the same!! I am going to pick up a prescription later today. Thankful it was nothing worse!!
