Omeprazole doesn’t cause anaemia. It may protect against it though by reducing bleeding from gastritis. If they don’t know what’s causing the anaemia already she may need some investigations organising.

Why is your mum on omeprazole?
It is given long term as a protection against drugs that promote bleeding eg aspirin or warfarin or because one has a diagnosed cause of indigestion eg hiatus hernia.
If she has anaemia the omeprazole is not causing it and may be helping depending on the cause of anaemia.
It is important to know why she is anaemia as the cause can be serious.

Although PPIs reduce the risk of anaemia from gastric bleeding, in the long term they are thought to be associated with a risk of iron deficiency as gastric acid has a role in iron absorption and obviously with a PPI you’re suppressing gastric acid secretion. So there is a possible link there. That said, I’d definitely recommend that she talks to her GP and has the anaemia properly investigated because there are dozens of possible causes.
