Periods while BFing

DS is 17 weeks and exlusively (and until recently constantly) BF. In the last fortnight he's been feeding less frequently due to life being waaay too exciting to waste time doing something dull like actually finishing a feed, but I thought he was making up for this at night (we cosleep, he's limpet-like). Today I have suspicious pinkish discharge, but I thought I'd be period free until he was taking much less milk. Nowt to worry about though, right?

Chubby,some women do get their periods whilst bf others don't have them return until they completely weaned, etc....really depends on the Individual. But you are right, it's nothing to worry about!

It does vary a lot. DS was excl bf and my period came back at about 4 months. I put this down to him starting to sleep longer at night (short-lived sadly). Then he went through a bit of a frenzy and I didn't have another until 6 months, then regular as clockwork. He's still bf now at nearly 16 months so obv no probs with milk supply...

Thanks folks. It seems to have come to nothing but I was crampy last night.

I didn't for ages but a friend got hers 8 weeks on, both bfing when we did.
