Endometrial biopsy with coil in place

Hi all,

I just want to know if I can have a endometrial biopsy done while I have a coil in place.

I am booked in for one in couple of days. I forgot to ask the consultant. But he knows I have a coil but didn't mention anything about it in relation to the biopsy.

Will it be more uncomfortable?

Does anyone has a any experience or know about it? Thanks all. Most appreciated.

Mine was done with the mirena in situ.

And it felt no different from the precious endometrial biopsy.

Good luck with it all!

Even if they did take it out they could replace it at the same time?

I know. But I am having a biopsy before booking me in for endometrial ablation. And so I would be getting rid of the coil anyway. So, a waste of new coil for a few weeks. Or maybe I go on the pill for a couple of weeks.

I think I am just fretting about the procedures and focusing on the non issues.

Thanks again.
