Does this sound like anaemia?

I have the doctors tomorrow but thought I'd ask here as I'm so impatient!

For a good few months I have been tired, not unusual for a mum so not been worried. However in the past few weeks I've started getting really thumping headaches, my legs/arms are really achy, my heartbeat seems rather fast and I'm finding it hard to concentrate. Also been getting an upset tummy a lot. Are these symptoms of anaemia? I have this while pg but I only felt tired, just wondering if these symptoms can be related to it as well?

Hate going to the doctors as I always feel as though I'm bothering over nothing but for the amount of sleep I'm getting and the great diet I'm eating I should feel fantastic, not as if I want to crawl back to bed!

Doesn't sound normal to me. I think you should go to the doctor.

I was losing lots of hair a few months ago and though it might be anemia or thyroid and went to doc. Did lots of tests and it wasn't either of those but it was a chronic urine infection that I didn't even know I had as I had no symptoms.

agree with Buda, definitely go to the doctors. It could all be related to a virus, but ask for a blood test as well for anaemia.

I was recently diagnosed with anaemia - had symptoms like yours. Also getting weird bruises appearing and I couldn't remember having bumped myself. GP also though I had a virus at same time which was exaggerating the symptoms. Now taking iron (couple of spatone sachets a day) and feeling great. In fact everyone else in my family has had a cold and I haven't!

Hope it goes well at GP.

I had similar symptoms (without the upset tummy). Turned out to be B12 deficiency.
Definitely go to the docs.

Thanks for all your responses! Going at 11am tomorrow, thankfully with one of the good doctors. Feeling ok today but only as i had a two hour nap with dd this afternoon. Surely 9-10 hours at night should be enough for me!

What is B12 deficiency? I've never heard of that.

Been to the docs, going back in a week for blood tests for anaemia, thyroid and diabetes. What ever happened to doctors taking them there and then.

Was also given a depression questionaire! He told me to ignore the title and just answer them as it's to give him an idea of how I am being affected in my everyday life and that I seemed bright enough to him. Just a bit paranoid that they think it could be all in my head I always hate going to the docs as I feel I'm making a fuss over nothing....

Had my results today and it seems like I have graves disease (hyperthroidism). Not at all what I expected but my result was only slightly abnormal so the doctor reckons I have caught it quite early. He felt my neck and said my thyriod was certainly swollen so i have to go to the hospital to have it confirmed/get the correct treatment.

He also gave me a couple of websites to look at and there are so many little things that I was just putting down to my tiredness - problems with vision, mood swings (won't be telling dp that lol!) and anxiety. Really glad it can be sorted and I'm looking forward to feeling normal again!
