DH on Fluoxetine, just one glass of wine gives him a hangover

Does it affect anyone else this way?

It doesn't matter for every day, he's happy not to drink and it'll help his weight loss, but with Christmas coming he'd like the odd glass.....

DH is on venlafaxine, and it has this effect on him, so he's given up drinking. Not that we drank much anyway, but like your DH, he'd like the odd glass now and then.

My doctor told me not to drink. I did have a glass of red wine in the evening while on holiday and in the night my throat seemed to close up. I woke up and it cleared immediately but it was very scary. I think I will steer clear apart from a glass of wine with lunch at Christmas.

I don't get hangovers on one glass, but i do find i get more tipsey more quickly and instead of a hazy memory of the night before I completely blank it out if i have more than 3 glasses say.

They do say you shouldn't drink on AD's since they are working at cross purposes - one is a depressant and one is a stimulant. My suggestion would be maybe to try another colour of wine or perhaps beer, but like dior says it could just wear off as it really doesn't stop me having the odd glass now.

I couldn't drink anything on them - it went straight to my head and made me feel hideous
