What weirdness is going on with my feet?

I keep getting weird sensations in my feet that are almost like cramps, but they're uncomfortable rather than painful. When I look at the foot a toe will be pointing in an odd direction. If it's a big or little toe it will be bent sideways away from my foot. If it's any of the other toes it will be bent downwards. Only ever one toe at a time, and only when I am barefoot and not standing up.

When it happens I cannot straighten my foot. I have to either stand up and walk, or straighten the toe by hand. Then it passes immediately.

Is it some kind of cramp? It's not painful at all.

I get this too and assume it is cramp 🤷‍♀️😊

I get this in my 2nd/3rd toes, although it is painful, and yes definitely cramp. I have to stand on mine too and then it seems to ease off. Although one of my toes can sometimes cramp in one direction, eg point down, and then in trying to uncramp it, it goes the other way! #BodiesAreWeird

I did wonder whether this was some sort of cramp.

I've become more prone to cramps since menopause (thankyou, biology Hmm). I used to be very comfortable sitting kneeling, feet crossed at the toes, my bum resting on my heels. Can't do it now - within a minute I get proper cramp in the soles of my feet. Even just kneeling up can trigger the start of a cramp. Likewise pointing my toes.

How can I stop it happening? Can I stop it?

I’ve no idea! I’m just used to it now, prob only happens about once a month? But if it’s happening more regularly then maybe worth getting looked at? Might be more of a particular vitamin/mineral?

My daughter used to get toe cramps, they were caused by Vitamin D deficiency in her case
