Why does doctor want to speak to me this week?

I had a text from my doctor asking me to contact them. When I phoned, the receptionist said the doctor wanted to speak to me this week about the results of my stool sample. There were no available appointments until Friday so now I am wondering why they want to speak to me and whether the “this week” is significant.

Hi OP, why did you have the stool test? Presumably that would give you some indication as to what the GP might want to talk to you about?
