Abdominal ultrasound after echo heart scan

Hi. I've had an echo heart scan and a 24 monitor, on the back of chest pain and palpitations. My results disappeared, and when GP finally got to find them, hospital told her that all was okay, monitor fine and scan largely normal, and they would send a letter out to that effect.

Letter never arrived, instead a phonecall to book me in for an upper abdominal ultrasound, which had to be done urgently within 7 days because of what they were investigating.... but she wouldn't tell me what that was.

Anyone have any ideas of what a heart scan and monitor could have picked up that requires an upper abdominal ultrasound?

Thanks

I'm sure they have to tell you why. Who has arranged the abdominal scan? Is it the cardiologist folllwing the echo scan? If so I'd ring the secretary and ask them.

How long did it take for your echo results? I've had one recently and waiting for results but when the technician was doing the scan she was scanning quite low down, towards the bottom of my ribs/abdomen which I thought was strange for a heart scan.

About 3 weeks, but they got lost. They do go quite far down ro get the arteries and stuff.

Booking lady wouldn't say. It's tomorrow, so not ringing now, just worried. :/
