Nappy rash- started to bleed- any suggestions?

My J has bad nappy rash, which has started to bleed today. Have cleaned with water and tried to apply some savlon (but obviously this stings so much). Dr says to keep applying Sudocreme etc. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Instead of water use cooled chammomile tea. I don't know why it helps but it does! Also, Metanium cream is a God send.

Another vote for metanium -sudocreme is rubbish if the rash is this bad. It does get everywhere though and stains bright yellow so beware!

Great - will get some metanium.
Poor baby- screams every time I change him!

metanium and camilosan are you sure its not thrush???

Cammomile tea bags or even better the loose stuff and strain also get my vote to clean off rather than water .

I thought thrush was more common in babies' mouths- and when they are very young. My J is 10 months old- do you have experience with this with your baby?

thrush doesnt necessarily have to be in the mouth.DD had a bout of thrush in her nappy area when she was a baby, but you have a boy so i dont know what the score is there as my DS has never had it

we use metanium of the boys bums with nappyrash but have also used canesten cream (prescribed by doctor) as DS2 had thrush in his mouth and it was assumed that it was also causing the rash.
