10yo Tummy pain when going from lying down to sitting up

He says his tummy hurts when he sits up from a lying position. It went away for a week but has now come back. Can 10yo’s get pulled abdominal muscles? Bit worried it’s appendicitis but he says it doesn’t hurt unless he is moving from lying to sitting. Pain is around the tummy button area.

Hi op sounds like a pulled muscle but to be on safe side would recommend you get expert advice. Hope all is well

Pulled muscle I would have though but isn't belly button area also hernia territory?

Hmm I can’t see a bulge when he sits up. It all started after he’d done lots of gym a week ago so I’m really hoping it’s that. It’s the way it disappeared for a few days but is now coming back Sad

I would say just get it checked out for peace of mind

Mesenteric adenitis. It mimics appendicitis but have him checked just incase it is his appendix.

What's he doing in the gym? Kids can get a split stomach from the wrong exercises.

Lots of forward and backward rolls

He is very specific that he can only feel it when he sits up from a lying position.
