Back pain radio frequency injections

Just wondering if anyone has had this treatment?

I hurt my back three years ago and have been though the pain clinic and offers this. To be honest the pain management service has been very very poor (outsourced to a call centre) and have a few unanswered questions and it's only the call centre to call so no hospital department number to call. The information is generics for steroid/nerve block/ radio frequency.

The "clinician" said the first injection was to assess my suitability so will this be a medial nerve block? If so how long before I can go back work - it's says I need a "chaperone" and I can't drive home from appointment but resume normal activities in 1-2 weeks!! Seems excessive for an injection? I was hoping to go back the next day!

Then back for the radio frequency denervarion if it works?

It also says to take usual medication in one part of the letter but then contradicts abs says not to take painkillers. I take 20mg if amittriplyline. Thanks for reading my waffle.
