Chocolate hurt my gums - any dentists about?

Hi, just looking for some advice. I have some ongoing problems with the gums around my top molars on one side, every so often it flares up and is sore. I see the hygienist regularly and floss every day but have only been doing this for about a year - prior to that I just brushed my teeth.

When I eat chocolate it hurts my gums around the area that gets sore. Even if it's not inflamed at the time. My teeth have no cavities, I have had recent xrays.

I do grind my teeth, could the problem be loss of enamel and extra sensitivity to the sugar?

Have you got receding gums around those teeth?

If I eat sour sugary sweets it makes my gums painful in a couple of areas. I use Corsodyl ultra clean toothpaste which really helps.

Thank you @CimCardashian that sounds like mine. I've bought some of that toothpaste today so I will try that in that area. Have you tried gengigel? That seems to help too

@TankFlyBoss I’ve not heard of gengigel. I use Corsodyl if I have a flare up,it’s good but can discolour teeth so try not to use it much!
