Is it a bug, or something else?

DS has had the runs for 12 days on and off, it seems to be coming and going, he is not ill in any other way, and no-one else in the family have come down with it, I thought it was a bug to start with, but am now thinking its something else, a food intolerance perhaps, though he has eaten nothing new, and his diet is very limited as he is such a fussy eater, any ideas?

Sometimes a bug can linger in the system for a little while.

My dd1 had suspected rota virus in february this year and she had diarrhea for a month, although she was only sick for the first week or so. That's because her gut took a while to recover.

He is 6.9, he seems to be having diarrhea for 2-3 days, then solid ones for a day or two, then back to diarrhea, will take him to the docs later, though not sure they can do alot, as he wont drink dialite (sp) or anything else that might help.

the doctors may ask for a sample.
