would go to docs or phone NHS direct, tbh. Does sound like virus but also sounds quite nasty. Don't see it could just be stress. Are you taking paracetomol etc? Any appetite? Does bright light make it worse? Sounds a bit like glandular fever..

Sounds likeit could be a cold that hasn't come out yet. It probably will but at least then youwill be able to get over it properly. Look after yourself as much as you can, eating and sleeping properly. Try a multi vit and mineral one-a-day?
