Anyone got a tempur mattress/back pain

Which one did you get? I’ve tried them in the shop and ruled out the cloud as it’s too soft but can’t decide between the original (medium) and sensation (firm). DH likes the original but I’m a bit concerned that as the night goes on you would sink into it too much. The sensation did feel quite firm but I preferred the feel of it. Got a Simba 4 weeks ago and it’s making my sore back worse so planning to send it back. Love my tempur pillows so going to get the mattress, just can’t decide between the two.

Only you can decide sadly. I went for a medium firm a year ago that still hurts me every night but it was really expensive so need to wait a bit before replacing it. I've gone from firm to medium firm so think I need medium next but its not easy to guess correctly. I have exchanged before but this time got caught up in the pandemic so didn't happen. Good luck! NOT tempur though as I hated that lol

I bought a original medium Tempur about 3 months ago. It's got softer and softer. Unfortunately I bought it from John Lewis and it only had a 40 day return option. It's making my husband's back hurt. I'm really disappointed as I had an original Tempur for 15 years and the replacement is nothing like it.

I've got a tempur original and it is quite soft in my view- it's definitely got softer over time.

DH was dead keen to get one but I think we'd both prefer a decent firm sprung mattress now!

I have a tempur original and don’t love it tbh. It’s quite uncomfortable and very hot Sad. I’d love to replace it but it was so shockingly expensive I need to wait a bit. I’ll go back to a sprung mattress.

I had a tempur a couple of years ago and hated it! I found the medium quite hard once I'd settled into it and was in pain every night. It also made me sweat buckets. It was awful and we lost a lot of money getting rid of it.

Personally I wouldn't buy any mattress without a a trial/return period. We ended up getting a sprung mattress from John Ryan who gave a a 60 day trial/full money back guarantee. I use the mattress with a topper but it's great and it will be last a long time.

Thanks all. I’m going to try them out again tomorrow and will definitely chose somewhere with a trial period. Might look at normal pocket spring types as well. Really don’t like the Simba which is what’s making me think I have to go high end but maybe that’s not necessary.

Ah shame you don’t like the Simba! It’s all but cured my DP back and shoulder pain.
My hips used to go numb on my old mattress so I don’t think we’ve got that much to compare it against Blush

We got one ages ago because we thought it would be good for DH's back. It was OK but very, very hot.

We now have a John Lewis one which is much more comfortable for both of us.

I have back issues and tested various mattresses and went for the Tempur around two years ago from John Lewis. I was so excited.

The mattress was delivered and from the first night I just didn't sleep. It was like lying on a bloody volcano. Tossed and turned. Second night I was exhausted and still no sleep. Ended up bursting into tears at about 3am and decamped to the spare room.

Thank God John Lewis were understanding and let me exchange it for one of their own brand natural mattresses (which we went for and is lovely and I sleep just fine).
