contraception: the coil

I have got my first AF today post baby and since having coil fitted. Trouble is it was ages ago and I can't remember if they told me if it was ok to use tampons with a coil in? I am a bit worried that the threads might get stuck to it or something and i might accidentally pull it out!
Anybody know if this is ok or not?
Or should I just invest in a mooncup?

You're not supposed to for the 1st AF after having coil or baby. Be careful with mooncup and coil, mine sucked my coil out- twice [scary sucker emoticon]

I've used coils for over 5 years now and have always used tampons no problem, including the first month after insertion. Don't think you need to worry - the threads become quite soft after a while and should be quite a lot higher up than the tampon I would think

yes suwoo, i meant in the future - def not a mooncup then! ow!
thanks bigwombat

Oh so its true that a mooncup can suck out a coil. Did it hurt? Sorry to be dump, how did you know? Was it in the mooncup?
Pants, I like the idea of a mooncup but like my coil more.
I currently use tampons with no problems but if I use a mooncup, I will have quite a high chance of sucking out my coil?? Yikes

Well, Mooncups rock- of course! I am still using one, but being SUPER careful!
