It's on my tummy. Must be a stray pubic hair . I can't even see the damn thing it's so ingrown. It's already got puss-y (couldn't bring myself to write that word without the -) and hasn't gone away.

My bil had one in his back that curled round and round and round - could have been there for years! He had to have a large whole cut out to remove it and could have died!

What can I do?!

My bil had on too - kept emailing pictures of the wound aftgerwards. They have a special name. Dangerous cos the infection was heading towards the spine. Thats why i make myself pick all dh's ingrowing hairs. I say pick - more like minor surgery without the pain relief!

Mummyblueyes, I don't know, but I dumped him. While I loved squeezing the hairs out, I have to say it was to gross to do on a third date, that and the fact I was a very niave 17yr old at the time.

I think I had known this lad about two weeks when he got me to do it.

I remember being there with a needle and some tweezers and it was so long I was in shock!

I dumped him too.....

What your bil had was a pilonidal sinus and generally only occurs in your buttocks! (bet he said was back but was arse) You wouldn't get that on your tummy I think

I had an awful ingrowing hair on my tummy once. Found it about 6 weeks after a laparoscopy and thought it was a stitch that hadn't disolved. Pulled it out and it was soooooooooooooooooo long!

Try to get it out then go to the chemist and ask for magnesium sulphate (I think) and put it on - it warms up the skin and will draw out and dry any infection.
