Did the doc make any suggestions as to what it might be?

Lo12345 · 01/04/2021 17:39

Hi no he didn't he just said he's going to send me for scans but it's really bad flank pain on both sides so I'm thinking it's something to do with my kidneys as I've never had pain like it

If it's unbearable I'd go to A&E

Moondust001 · 01/04/2021 19:41

You may be wrong. It could be nerve pain, possibly from a trapped nerve in the spine, a slipped disc, or similar. Referred pain can exhibit exactly like this. Hence the scan, I suspect. That's probably what the GP thinks too.

It feels like I have pressure in my back but all on the sides it's like a constant pain every time I have a wee also feel very achy deep down in my abdomen so strange yeah gp is sending me for scans but I'll more than lightly go A&E if it carries on because the waiting list at the min with NHS is quiet long x

For the past two weeks I had pain in my upper right hand side and I thought my gallbladder was setting off again.
Phoned the doctors who suspected UTI (I only phoned them when the pain moved to my lower back) this went on for a week before I phoned them. They didn't take a water sample but prescribed ab's for 3 days which didn't touch it. Phoned 111 and GP saw me and she said urine was clear but could of been because I had ab's. She then had a prod around and said she suspects a kidney infection as I was very tender around my kidneys. She prescribed different ab's for a week which will end tomorrow and I still have a throb in my lower right hand side of my back. Constantly feels as if someone is poking it. I will see how I feel on Saturday if not will phone 111 again.

@ThatsNotTheTeaHunty yeah I'm the same it is absolutely killing me every time I wee I get this achy feeling deep down too
Plus all the deep flank pain on both sides
I'll just have to wait and see what the scans say but if it gets worse then I will definitely be going
A&E

I'd phone 111 tbh early tomorrow morning. They were fab with me and was seen by a doctor within 2 hours. This was a Friday night too.

They asked me if it hurt when I passed urine and it didn't. Defo phone 111.

Yeah I will do definitely comes in waves sometimes it's okay and then sometimes it's get really bad like now it's killing me 😤 I'll ring 111 x
