Any ideas as to what could be causing this?

I feel fine, don't feel ill at all, occasional headache, but I put that down to stress and not sleeping well.

But, I have occasionally had to cough a few times and feel v slightly phlegmy during the day. Anyway, I have noticed that for the last couple of nights it's got increasingly uncomfortable to lie down.

My chest, neck and throat feel really tight and I feel as though I'm struggling for breath, though I do eventually drop off to sleep.

Doctors can't get me in until Monday evening and I hope it isn't worse tonight.

Don't have any thoughts, but I hope you feel better, it sounds awful

Could it be asthma or an allergy, probably dust mite? These things can start in adulthood.

Have you tried sleeping a little propped up on some pillows?

I had this last week and it turned out to be laryngitis it's worse when you're lying down and is apparently rife atm. Mine started with a feeling like I had cotton wool stuck in my throat. Then the next day I woke up feeling like I couldn't breathe. It's horrible but it does go quite quickly.

try sitting in a steamed up bathroom to help your breathing.
