Stomach pain

Just wanted some advice . My ds (11) has woken up this morning with stomach pain. He could barely walk down the stairs and has refused breakfast. He says that it hurts most when he moves and when he is still it is less painful but still throbs.
He is never ill and hasn't had a day off school for ages. Do you think he should go the drs or will it just pass? Any advice or experience gratefully received.

The pain is both sides of his lower stomach but worse on his left side.

He might just be constipated but I think it's worth getting him checked to rule out appendicitis especially if his tummy is tender to touch.

right as i was hoping it wasnt on just the lower right side as thats the appendicts side.

biglips · 09/11/2007 09:14

yes still get it checked if pain is worse later.

How is your ds now Wizzle?

Thanks for all your replies. Took him to drs yesterday . He was in a lot of pain when they examined him but as the pain was on the diferent side to the appendix they thought it was probably a stomach virus. Had to watch him all afternoon and then ring the docs back with update. The pain went off gradually and is still getting better so luckily no hospital for us!
