Smear Test question - will they do it when bleeding?

That's it really. Been advised I need one urgently, but would they be able to do it whilst I am still bleeding?

Thanks

I wouldn't have thought so, give them a phone and ask, esp if its urgent

No mine did not they asked me to wait until one week after, but if it is urgent it may be different, I would give them a call and ask as each surgery may be different.

From memory I've been told in the past to book an appointment mid way between periods but I would ring and ask if its urgent

Thanks for that, been in contact with the clinic, and said every doctor is different.

I was told not to have one while bleeding, as it will contaminate the smear/cells/slide.
Best to book it inbetween.

Not a good idea may make it unreadable ..but if you are bleeding constantly and this is reason for urgent smear if you have not had one in last 3 years then may have no choice...
