Sharp pain in my lung when I breathe...should get it checked out shouldn't I?

Ive noticed over the last couple of months a sharp pain in my chest...nothing major but noticeable. So, last few days seems when I breathe and has got slightly worse...so most def my lung I think. Last night and today very sharp pain and although bearable def seems worse particularly when I breathe. Both parents have history of lung conditions COPD, lung cancer etc

By the way I havent had any colds, coughs or anything - just a one dayer when I felt abit bunged up!

Rang GP this morning and they are going to call me - am right to get this checked out arent I?

Yes definitely, hopefully it's nothing but best to check

GransKitchen · 18/03/2021 15:47

Well done for getting it checked out. Could be nothing but then at least you know

GloomyWaters · 18/03/2021 18:34

spoke to GP today told me everything it could be Shock and sent me for a chest xray which I actually got today - rang up and they fitted me in.

Radiographer did the xray then said just need to do that again and Ithought oh perhaps he didnt get it quite right then Im sure he moved something to photography the back of the area...not sure
anyway he said results will be sent around a week to your GP

Im overthinking stuff

I've had this. Turned out to be stress. I couldn't take a complete breath and also couldn't sneeze because it hurt so much.

grassisjeweled · 19/03/2021 00:50

Does it feel like someone is stabbing you in the back, literally?

overripebanana · 19/03/2021 00:57

Could be costochondritis... if it is, get to s good osteo asap. Good luck

GloomyWaters · 19/03/2021 23:20

Not back...only abit of pain in.back.

It's sharp pain in lefthand side of chest that I can locate..can pin point. Def when I breathe in... also the bone inbetween yr breasts at the bottom hurts when I press it...but not sure if thats because my bras been digging in. Ive has no cold or coughing apart from one day a few weeks back U felt abit bunged up but next day fine

GP said it could be xyz...told me very common sees it alot.

Just wait to see what Xray says.

I do feel very tired today bit of a sore throat and headache so going to chill all tom.as have me vaccine Sunday

An osteo got rid of DD's mid front rib pain. All the symptoms you describe. Look it up on youtube, you'll see physios and osteos talking about costochondritis using a bucket analogy. You dont always get the pain where the issue is. Good luck with your appt. Hope it goes well.

How are you @GloomyWaters

GloomyWaters · 24/03/2021 17:29

thanks for checking up so....

Had a chest xray last Thursday was told it would be at GP within a week, I checked Friday and it hadnt come back, still uncomfortable. Sunday had my vaccine and boy have I been ill!!!! Have had flu like symptons for 3 days so it has actually taken my mind off it all. Yesterday chest pain was intense but today it has subsided but have really bad backache today.

Im going to call the GP again tomorrow and see if results are back and book a call with the Dr who requested xray. Although this reaction to the vaccine has really wiped me out

I had this and it turned out to be acid reflux

Yes definitely chase it up with gp. I had X-ray a couple of weeks ago, report had been back at the gp but they hadn't got in contact with me until I called them to chase it up a couple of weeks later. Sounds like nothing serious if it has been nearly a week and you haven't heard

mylovelydd · 31/03/2021 20:50

@GloomyWaters have you had any news? I hope you are feeling better

GloomyWaters · 31/03/2021 21:12

Spoke to GP today...xray all clear. Pain has subsided slightly not getting worse GP said to leave it for a few weeks.

I told him my 1st covid vaccine last week made me poorly for 4 days...and sort of took my mind off it...he said oh Ive heard people who react probably had covid previously then he said...that could be gossip though Hmm

Told him.the bottom of my breast bone hurts when I press it he said couks be this could be that but because I havent has any other serious problems prob nothing so to leave for a few weeks and see how things go...if concerned to call him.again
