My ds 17 ( nearly 18 ) has been on list for braces top and bottom for nearly 2 years at the beginning they offered is private but was expensive
Now been told still may be another year and although he will get nhs treatment as was first referred at just 15
But now wondering if we scrape the private
Options are
Aligners - clear that has to be kept on 23 hrs - this was about £3000
Or clear braces at about £2500
This will stretch us hugely financially and be a real struggle , my ds says he will wait but the older he gets I think he will hate braces more or be maybe off to uni and having orthodinist appts still
Has anyone used the aligners and are they good ?
He also plays rugby twice a week and trains so important they can be taken out for this if needed
Or would we be better getting clear braces
Been told if go private can be seen immediately
