Can anyone help me with health anxiety

I have crippling health anxiety. It is taking over my life and has got much worse the last couple of months. I wake up thinking I have something wrong with me.l but I'm pretty sure they are physical symptoms of anxiety; diarrhoea, chest pain, stomach ache, pins and needles in arms. I've been to a&e before with it and bloods and most observations were within normal limits. I've been to the gp, I've tried medication which doesnt agree with me. I wake up with a dread every single day. I just want to be back to my normal self but can't ever see that being me again.

Has anyone managed to over come this..it's ruining my life

I don't have personal experience but have you been to the GP to talk about your health anxiety? Do you have access to counselling or therapies through them?

I have been to GP, who said they can refer for CBT but it has been put on hold due to

Sending love to you Noodles. I have horrendous health anxiety too. I have had it since childhood, it went away for a bit, but in 2017 I relapsed with it as I had to have a cystscopy for blood in urine and have struggled with it ever since. For me it tends to flare up when I'm stressed, I think its a feeling of being out of control. Can you afford private counselling, this really helped me. CBT is very helpful for anxiety and that helped me previously. I actually think my bladder scare triggered PTSD as its only since then I have found it incredibly hard to deal with routine things. You have my sympathies, it's an awful thing to suffer from.

Anxiety is grim, you do need CBT to reset your thinking.

Can your Gp access an online service? Or can you go privately? It also might be worth exploring a different medication, because in tandem with CBT they can really help,,

Can you make an appointment about these two things with your GP tomorrow?

@Rosieposy89 that sounds like me. I actually had some tests done not long ago and they come back abnormal and that definitely kicked it off this time. I thought myself if it could be some form of PTSD. It's awful.

I might look into Paying private CBT therapy, just to have a look at cost as I need something, I can't carry on like this.

Thanks to anyone else suffering x
