We went to a friend's house today and DD1 had lunch there with her friend. She's 2.5yrs, and had something chickenny from the freezer (Dinosaur's or similar). We heard her crying about an hour ago, and she was covered in sick. Presume its from lunch time as she had crumpets for tea. We are washing her bedding etc as its gone through her quilt and mattress. Any advice on what to do with her till her bedding is ready. Also, would you mention this to the friend who kindly cooked lunch, or not?

There always seems to some sort of sick bug going around, so might not necessarily be from your friend's house. However I would phone tomorrow for whatever reason and just inquire if her child is ok.
Only one of my kids has ever come down with a sick bug and was sick several times through the night . After the first time we made the bed up with two sets of bottom sheets with waterproof liners in between - a hassle I know, but you only have to take off a sheet at a time and it protects the mattress (you could also use towels). How about your bed or a sofa till her bed is ready in a sleeping bag (easy to wash), or using towels???.

Awww poor little thing. TBH it could be anything so don't mention it.
Hope she is better soon. Sorry no further pukey bedclothes ideas

Poor little thing, try making a little "nest" for her on the sofa if she's feeling sorry for herself, and read her a story. Avoid giving her a big drink of water- it's better to give her a teaspoonful every few mins - cos if her stomach's irritated she'll bring it back up again.

My dd's have been known to vomit just from being too over excited and overtired to digest. Hope she feels better soon.

Thanks everyone. She has just been asking to wear her fairy costume, so hopefully she is over the worst. That's a very good idea to put a towel on the bed - we'll put another sheet on top. I must say, my husband is a hero, because he cleaned it all up!!

hi mummytummy,

just wondered how your dd was.
Hope she's feeling better

mummytummy · 31/10/2004 02:03

Hi Tabitha. Thanks. She has been absolutely fine. I think it must have been what she ate that lunch time. We finally managed to get her back to bed with dried bedding at 1.30 am!! Only prob is tonight we've been out and my husband has been sick all over the quilt (through drinking though) (deja vu!), so I'm in the spare bed tonight!
