Another question about the mini pill & bleeding

I have only been taking Cerazette for just over a month, and not only have I experienced breakthrough bleeding mid month, but when I get my proper period at the end of the month, it seems to last much longer than before I was taking this pill.
I am now on day 6 of my period, and it doesn't seem to be getting any lighter.
Does this sound familiar to anyone else?

My sister is on this pill, and gets no periods at all, so it is just my luck to have the reverse happen!

Other than this, I have got on ok with this pill, and had no other side effects.

I'm feeling like this period is never going to end!

im on cerazette, ahve been for 3 years now, the bleeding is very ireegular, i bled for weeks when i first started it, now i can go for months without bleeding, but then i may have a time when i bleed for AGES, its all very erratic, but if i weigh it up i spend alot more time NOT bleeding than bleeding IYSWIM.

I guess it is still very early days, but I am getting run down with what seems like a never ending period!

how long did it take for things to settle down with you?

Day 7 of this period now, and it seems to be getting heavier, not lighter.
Before starting this pill, I would have two heavy days, then it would get lighter & lighter before stopping totally on day 5.
As I am having proper heavy bleeding on day 7, I feel this period will never end, and it is starting to get me down a bit.
Is this normal with this pill, and if so please tell me it improves in time!

hi PC, hate to tell u this but it could go on for a while yet, but it WILL settle down, if u can bare with it u will be glad u did as soon there will be months with no periods, not quite sure how long it took for me to settle on it as it was 3 years ago and im lucky to remember what i had for tea last night but a friend had the same trouble as u on this pill and i told her the same, bare with it, she bled for a few weeks then it settled down. HTH

So to be still bleeding quite heavily a week into your period, is quite normal when you first take this pill?

Feel slightly reassured that it is normal, after my sister saying how this pill stopped her periods full stop.

Periods can get you down when they go on for much longer than expected though, can they not?!

Really hope it goes away soon!

your welcome PC yeah it is horrible, makes u feel like u wanna live in the bath lol, also u can discontinue expecting your regular periods as it dont happen that way anymore lol

Yes, I worked that one out when I got another period just a week after the first one, when I had just started taking this pill!
It was only light breakthrough bleeding though, unlike what I am experiencing right now!

With a normal period you know it will be heavy at first, and then get lighter & lighter before stopping, but this one doesn't seem to be getting lighter as the days go on at all, so it feels like it will never end!

i know, it seems impossible that u could lose so much blood and it is frustrating when it shows no signs of letting up, soon u will have a day when its really light and u think its stopping only for it to goheavy again, but rest assured it does stop, then u will be worried coz ur not having any periods, i know i was lol

Oh I know, loopylou6, that is just how I feel!
I had what seemed like lighter days, only to be followed by a heavy bleed on a day which should be pretty much the end of my period! Not good!

Really hope it calms down.
