Anyone had a free 15 minute hearing test at Boots?

For the past few months, I have noticed a deterioration in my hearing. Only minor things- like having to have the TV up louder than DH, and not being able to follow conversations in an environment where there is background noise etc. Only yesterday I was talking to my neighbour in the street. Not a busy road at all, but I had to ask her to repeat a few things. I have noticed as well that when at work (Primary school teacher), I'm often having to ask the children to speak up because I can't hear always hear them- this is when it's quiet in the classroom. I asked my TA if she could hear them and she said that she could, despite sitting further away. I did an online hearing test yesterday on my phone and the result was poor hearing. I decided to book a 15 minute free hearing test at one of their stores and was wondering if anyone else had had one and if so, what to expect. I wondered too if it they will try to flog me a hearing aid or something at the end. Any experiences to share?

My DH did as he thought he had some hearing loss. They confirmed he did do, he then went to GP for a referral to audiology. He now has hearing aids in both ears through the NHS. Boots were very good and he felt there was no hard sell.

I had one a few months ago. No hard sell, was told heating within normal expected range.

You sit in a padded cupboard and press a button when you hear tones.

I had one recently when I went for microsuction. Exactly as described above. My hearing was ok so no flogging opportunity, but even if there had been I would have batted it away without any problems!
