DS1 starting on the chew tabs 2 weeks ago and seems to have turned into a little monster.

he has gone from sleeping through, to waking every 2hours or so and also insiting on getting up at 6am.

does anyone have any experiance of this??

he is taking it on a 4 month trial for transient respitiory wheeze. If he gets a cold - he ends up very ill, unable to breath and in hospital due to ventilation at 4 months

yes,

my dd (who was 4 at the time) turned into a dervish twenty minutes after one dose. She didn't fall asleep until two hours after her usual time, and had a nightmare that night as well.

Never again!

dd had the same with liquid ventolin. She was a hyperactive nightmare on it. We swopped over to an inhaler pronto!

He is hyper on the inhaulers and gets a really high heart rate, but this is different, he is absolutly uncontrolable

that doesnt sound good.

don't give him any more, and tell your gp tomorrow

fwiw, fast heart rate is normal with ventolin, you get a fast heart rate from being wheezy, too

rather the fast heart rate than whirling dervish!

Well I spoke to DS1's consultant and he said that I need to stop for two weeks and then start again, just to ensure that it is not behavioural. BUT we stopped them and the change today has been dramatic, only one time out, he has got in to his car seat and been particularly good.

The test, however, will be tonight, when I see how his sleeping pattern is.

I also spoke my Community nurse, who said rage, and nightmares was not listed as a side effect for 2-5 year olds - pah
