Headaches? Should I be reassured by the scans?

Hi everyone,

Ive had some pretty bad headaches all week, some in the morning some come later in the day it feels like pressure behind my eye and painkillers aren’t working very well.

Ive spoke to my GP and she has said keep an eye on things and ring next week. She also said to go to the optician. They did a scan of the back of my eye and said no issues no swollen nerves and my vision was ok just slightly short sighted.

I also had a head CT 2 years ago and nothing bad was identified.

Should I be reassured by these tests or should I push for another head scan? I don’t know how quickly things like brain tumours etc would develop and I’m quite an anxious person.

Thankyou

Hi,

Spring last year I suffered with a terrible headache for about 10 days. Some days it was bad (particularly when I woke up) other days it's was just in the background.

I went to the opticians and everything was fine. They did say maybe it was due to he extra time sat behind a screen (I had been on mat leave up until 2 weeks before lockdown so my screen time was hugely increased). I still don't really know what it was.

I think you can be reassured by having clear scans, maybe up your water intake and takw migraine tablets (they seemed to help massively)

My brother has a brain tumour- the optician picked it up straight away.
