Chemo patients-have you been vaccinated?

I have breast cancer, currently doing the Taxol (paclitaxel) rounds.

My oncologist asked me to get vaccinated. I'm all for vaccinations in principle but there's a part of me worrying that it hasn't been tested on chemo patients very much.

When googling I came across a couple of messages where patients reported that their oncologist told them to wait as they were worried that it could mess with the efficiency of the chemo. Of course there is no way I would want to risk that, I'd rather keep sheltering like crazy until end of treatment.

Have you been vaccinated and seen signs that it doesn't hamper the chemo? Are your oncologists in favour and did they give you reassurance about any of the above?

I'm probably being stupid but it's a stressful time in so many ways

Thanks a lot for any contributions

My sister has been vaccinated during chemo.

My mum was vaccinated last week, a couple of days before her next chemo session. Her doctors were very much in favour of her being vaccinated.

My MIL is on palliative chemo and has been vaccinated. I know lots of oncologists through work, and they are all encouraging their patients to be vaccinated.

Many thanks for the replies. It looks like not many chemo patients have been vaccinated yet.

I have had mine and all went well and hopefully it works fine
