Just been diagnosed with a small fibroid and I'm looking for an excuse for my big tum. The thing is, it's disproportionate you see, the rest of me is not really so very big.

Hi - I worked with a lady who had this same problem - I actually found out after asking her when she was due - I was so ashamed!!! so yes - hers did cause bloating.

A SMALL fibroid can't cause lots of bloating - it is more likely to be water retention.

I used to have huge fibroids which made me look 7 months pregnant, and had them removed, a small one has grown back and I am bloated - but the gynaecologist says this is definitely not the fibroid but fluid retention.

To be honest Mazmack i fear it is more fat than fluid retention, no point kidding myself!

you can probably tell if its water cos it will feel sort of firm rather than like squishy fat - I have both!
