Can adults get croup?

All yesterday I felt like I had cotton wool in my throat that I couldn't get rid of then last night I started with a barking cough. This morning I woke up nearly unable to catch my breath and it was bloody frightening. Since getting up I can catch my breath but only just and barking cough is still there. Dp is coming home from work and i'm planning on ringing the doctors when it opens. I am also nearly 31 weeks pregnant. I don't have asthma but ds was given a reliever inhaler when he had bronchiolitis could I use this to see if it helps?

think it is called laryngitis in adults.

What helps (for croup) it to be upright, keep the throat moist (maybe honey and lemon drinks).

Hope you feel better soone.
