My 14month old has been sick again this morning after his bf. He was first sick on Wednesday night so now it's nearly 3 days and all he can keep down is sips of water and nibbles of rusk... what should I do???
Also if he can't tolerate bf should I give up (I'm only still doing it as cows milk makes his excema worse)

francagoestohollywood · 03/11/2007 17:02

has he been vomiting for 3 days in a row minko? I'd keep his fluids up as much as possible. If he is breasfed even better, I think. If he is vomiting and run a fever call your gp. Hope he's better soon

If you have problem with b/feeding I think the best thing to do is posting on the breast feeding threads . How's he doing this afternoon?

Thanks for asking. I took him to the out of hours doctor this afternoon (arranged by NHS Direct). He's still quite floppy and ill. Just ate half a piece of bread and a fruit puree so we'll see if that stays in. The doctor wasn't too worried, he's hydrated enough.

He did scare me by saying it can last up to 10 days though! And it can take up to a week to pass between siblings. So if his sister gets it I could be housebound for nearly 2 weeks - I'm already tearing my hair out! What with that and being a complete sickaphobic (see other threads) this is my worst nightmare. Especially as DP is off on holiday on Thursday for 10 days (hope he doesn't get it either!)

Oh poor little thing, I hope he'll recover soon. Dd was sick on Saturday and Tuesday, seemed fully recovered but tonight she refused to eat and has a mild temperature...
