Poor dd2 has been scratching like mad the last 2 nights - it was so itchy last night she was crying. Could it be thrush?

I can't think what else it could be, and if so, how do you treat it in an 8yo? She won't even eat yoghourt, so there's no way she'll let me near her f**ny with some

Anyone? Can I rule out anything else. She has a GP/cream/medicine taken orally phobia so it's going to be a long ride ....

Worms very likely get some vermox from chemist won't do any harm but one treatment (only need to get one 5ml spoon down then) may help!

Agree - sounds like worms. Would she take a chewable tablet in a teaspoon of jam or chocolate spread? Always worked with my dcs.

You can buy tablets otc at the chemist.

But the itchiness is more fanny area than bottom. Surely if it were worms they wouldn't travel that far and cause such extensive itching?

Unfortunatrely 2sugers, yes they do. DD has had them there, but as the others say they are easy to get rid of.

Sounds like threadworms to me. They are likely cause of ano-genital itching in young children. You'll need to get something from you pharmacist to treat it and also the rest of the family. To prevent reinfection cut nails short, PJs and pants in bed and change bed linen and towels as frequently as possible.
