hi.. my gp has just prescribed the mini pill for me this morning. is it just the same as combined ?as in bleeding etc? he has changed me over because i am suffering severe migraines and feels that combined (mycrogynon) could be the cause. i have read the leaflet but doesnt say much really. any advice? experience?

thanks xx

I also suffered really bad headaches with microgynon. I have been on the mini pill in the past and I know that you have to take it within the same hour every day for it to work, so you need to be really good at remembering it. I'm sure I was on one where I didn't get the 7 day break, ie it had to be taken every day. They might not all be like that though so I'd check with your gp or nurse how your one works if you're not sure. I don't think the bleeding was a lot different tbh. Hopefully someone will come along who can give you better advice
