Episiotomy won't heal...

Its now almost 8 weeks since my episiotomy, and it just won't heal. I've been to docs and had antibiotics which didn;t help, and am now waiting for hospital appt. It's driving me crazy as it's too painful to walk very far and is now looking like the healed part is unhealing itself. Am getting really down as am pretty housebound and inactive when i'd usually be out and about doing lots of stuff. Anyone else had trouble with episiotomy not healing?

You have my sympathy. I too had the same problem and like you mentioned walking far was uncomfortable I personally thought it was worse than having a CS which I had 2nd time around.

It did heal in time and the antibiotics worked for me so the only advice I can give is to maybe try and push the hosptial appt tell them you are housebound and need to see a specialist ASAP.

Mine hurt for a very long time but healed ok, just the midwife said it was stitched too tight (ouch!). I had salt baths alot (sometimes in the middle of the night!) and had to put KJ jelly everywhere down there to stop any rubbing, and sleep with no knickers etc. which helped.
