For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I missed the "describe each other in 2 words" game on the last thread, but FMF, I would describe you as energetic and positive. I can't imagine you being lethargic at all.

pinkspottywellies · 01/11/2007 19:35

Goodness me I can't keep up with all this! MrsC, hope you're feeling ok . Damn breasts! I have eaten banana, oj, cucumber, sweetcorn, beetroot, avocado (those last three diced up with salad cream.. mmmmm) I'm not doing very well at the moment. That's 6. This thread isn't about fruit and veg any more and I keep not eating breakfast and just being rubbish. If I have some dried fruit and an apple I'll be nearly there.

Franny, you're eating fabulously. Lucky baby Do you still require lots of bustling? I could bring you peppermint tea. Run you a bath?

FrayedKnot · 01/11/2007 19:35

I'm sorry to hear about the mastitis MrsC. I don;t know what to suggest though

I've had melon, grapes, a salad for lunch, and an omelette with various veggies in for supper. WE are running a bit low on stocks, but super veg box coming tomorrow. I have a mango which is not ripening. Is it the time of year? What can I do to help it?

MrsCarrot · 01/11/2007 20:04

Thanks for sympathy. I'm glad I wasn't here for the two word game as it probably would have consisted of bad and tit.

Boco - so kind of you, but really, glossy is far too generous a term for my hair. I think it needed a wash.

100x - That sounds wonderful. Honestly though, I know plenty of older people that gravity has been much kinder too! Will we have cocktails on the beach, and cake? I might come then.

Franny - have you started your folic acid? What's for dinner then, plenty of gark green leafy veg I hope.

We had jacket potatoes with houmous, parma ham, broccoli, lambs lettuce, tomato and red onion salad, toasted seeds with tamari, sugar snap peas and mange tout.

Then I had a wispa.

FrayedKnot · 01/11/2007 20:09

B*llocks I think I ma getting a cold sore.

MrsCarrot · 01/11/2007 20:12

Kinder TO

Frayedknot - have yo got cream or are yo a garlic/lemon/something natural rubbed on it sort of person. I always use Zovirax.

Tatties · 01/11/2007 20:17

MrsC I tried to CAT you earlier but you don't accept them... Are you able to CAT me? Or shall I bother Franny for your email address?

MrsCarrot · 01/11/2007 20:17

I think there are toast crumbs on my laptop andsome letters stick.

Off to have another boiling bath

FrayedKnot · 01/11/2007 20:23

I thought I was doing OK so far immune system wise, everyone else at work etc has been falling byt eh wayside with awful colds

maybe not

pinkspottywellies · 01/11/2007 20:36

MrsC have you seen this thread about milk blockages? I saw it and thought of your breasts.

FrannyandZooey · 01/11/2007 20:44

Put the mango in a paper bag with a banana

Hello 3and! Hope Yannic has a lovely day.

I want any bustling that is going spare and thank you for all the praise. Have I done so well that I can eat some chocolate cake, do you think?

I have a period headache - ugh. I am totally not aligned with the full moon now [sulk] It now looks as though my period is trying to start on the first of the month instead, which is still quite cool I guess. Just in case anyone was interested

pinkspottywellies · 01/11/2007 20:47

Franny, you absolutely must have chocolate cake. All the experts say so now put your feet up dear

Tatties · 01/11/2007 20:47

Here you go Franny, you don't mind if I have some too do you?

FrannyandZooey · 01/11/2007 20:48

I think your period was waiting for mine Tatties and got confused

I am having folic acid and all sorts, i feel pretty good really

I had a mushroom lasagne and salad for lunch (in favourite ever healthy cafe shutting at Christmas waaaah) and tortillas, hummus, beans and salad for dinner. When I read the leafy greens bit I went to stuff a load of spinach in my mouth so you are being a wonderful influence on me. I wish we could cure your poor breasts MrsC. I am very sad at the thought of you not telling anyone about one bout but I know what you mean.

FrannyandZooey · 01/11/2007 20:49

MrsCarrot · 01/11/2007 20:52

Oh yes, you must eat cake when you're pregnant. It's the rules.

Tatties - I don't have CAT no, is it very easy to do?

Tatties · 01/11/2007 20:53

I think so too Franny

Is the cafe the one at the arts centre you were telling me about ages ago? Why is it closing?

I had a lovely shop-bought lentil & chickpea & spinach dhal yesterday.

Today we had lentil, mushroom, cougette and tomato sauce with spaghetti for dinner from my BULK COOKING reserves. God, not cooking in the evening is fantastic

pinkspottywellies · 01/11/2007 20:54

MrsC did you see my post?

Tatties · 01/11/2007 20:55

Erm I think the CAT facility is easy to do MrsC, but it costs £5 for the year

FrannyandZooey · 01/11/2007 20:59

oh hoorah hoorah for bulk cooking

Tatties you are new queen of bulk cooking and my crown has fallen off. I am down to a bit of shepherds pie and a load of frozen peas, I think. Weekends have been manic and I have been feeling tearful and swamped. This weekend is going to be fab though, I have NOTHING AT ALL to do on Saturday and I am going to have a huge lie in.

yes it is the arts centre cafe, but it is closing because they are opening a whopping great whoop de doo visual arts facility next door and shutting the lovely little cosy friendly inspiring gallery. The new place will be great, but I am already mourning the old one. We will miss it so much and the new place doesn't open until the Autumn of next year. Ruddy sad.

Ds was up at 5,30 this morning, but bizarrely I feel less tired than I did yesterday

Hello ladies - I doubt anyone remembers me but i shuffled past briefly in the summer and then it all went to pot.... could i rejoin please?

To prove my credentials, today I have had

4 plums
Grated carrot
Pepper
Tomatoes
Cucumber
Clenentines (3)
Hummous
Cava (2 glasses)

I have also walked for about 2 hours with the double buggy.

Hope you are all well and happy.

pinkspottywellies · 01/11/2007 21:00

Franny, you know you said about using linseed oil in the banana cake? Could I use any other kind of oil? I don't know whether I'll be able to get any unless Tesco sell it (and is it expensive?). Do you just mash the bananas and add the oil and water the same as you would the egg?

pinkspottywellies · 01/11/2007 21:01

Hi Dolly! Welcome back

MrsCarrot · 01/11/2007 21:05

Sorry, PSW, yes I did. I have been chatting on there for a bit. Thank you.
