Hi, my Mum had one of these on her upper arm. She used to refer to it as her 3rd breast, as it was fairly large!

She had hers surgically removed after it started to get sore. The scar was on the inside of her arm, so the scar itself wasn't very visible. However, they had to deeply excise where the lump had been to ensure that they'd got all of it (to stop it from growing again), and this looked pitted/"dented" and very uneven, and did not look smooth several years later.

I don't know if her age made a difference, as she was over 50 when she had the op. She was also a larger lady, so that might not have helped regarding skin elasticity etc. The lipoma did not return.

Sorry this isn't a very positive story, but I thought that you'd like to hear it anyway.

I had one taken out from a top of my shoulder approx 15 years ago, scar barely noticeable if at all. It hasn't regrown and no new ones appeared.
