Could be a 'tic'. Very common in childhood and usually disappears after a while. Try not to bring attention to it. Sometimes it happens during times of stress.

mum2oliver · 29/10/2007 19:28

I havent mentioned it at all but other people keep doing it so trying to remember to whisper to them not to say anything. What's a tic please?

Both mine have done this at around 3-4.

Both have stopped now

But I have seen loads of kids in the playground doing the same.

One of mine went through a stage of doing this. Really frustrating for you if it is just a phase, but best to try and ignore it. Otherwise take them down to the optician and they'll obviously check their eyes.

ladymac · 30/10/2007 13:11

Two of my four have done this. 11 yr old dd still does it from time to time. It is best to ignore it.

Have there been any big changes happening in his life recently? Starting school, a new sibling etc? These can cause this kind of thing.

Hi I posted recently on the same thing. My 6 year old started blinking all the time. Went to have them checked and was told that if it lasted more than 3 months to have further checks. Ds's blinking went at around 2.5 months.

Dry eyes? Any allergies?

mum2oliver · 30/10/2007 21:33

Could it be that he is tired as he seems it more lately.
How about the time change?
It has become worse since then. The tic thing has worried me now.
