Eczema in ear, pain and itchy

Hello, I have suffered from eczema in my ear for about a year now. Last spring it caused a particularly bad ear infection that needed strong treatment from an ENT. I do all the usual, ear plugs when showering etc but I still get ear infection after ear infection. As soon as antibiotics or otomize course finish, within a few weeks the itching and inflammation starts again. Today is particularly bad, itchy and inflammed. Any ideas what I can do? Off to buy some ear calm but really looking for long term options. I might go back to the ENT.
Thanks

Hi @Lovetodaydream. I just saw this post while searching for something else. I have eczema in my ears too. I was back and forwards to GP/ENT for years getting conflicting advice from a dozen or more docs before a specialist ENT nurse recognised it as eczema and recommended that I got a prescription for Mometasone Furoate 0.1% cream. I now just put a little inside my ears using a cotton bud when they flare up and it does the trick. I still get a build-up of dry skin debris, so have microsuction to clear it every few months, but the condition is much more liveable with. Before that I used to regularly have ear infections, probably caused by me scratching with my finger, and would often have hearing loss due to the build up of debris too. I will be forever grateful to that nurse!
