Tip of tongue black

Any ideas??

I have a few health issues (have another post in Aibu) but thought I'd post this separately

The tip/edge of my tongue is black. I have absolutely no idea why. I have a small painful lump on the side not near the blackness, assumed I'd bitten my tongue in my sleep. Only just looked in the mirror and the front edge of my tongue is black/dark purple.

(Other health issues today are heavy period bleeding and weakness in arms and legs, also migraine and sickness).

Should I just call it a day and go back to bed?

Have googled but couldn't find any answers

Vitamin deficiency think it's b12?

1940s · 15/01/2021 12:19

Go to GP. Don't trust any health advice here. Silly idea to post this

Tigger83 · 15/01/2021 12:25

Would echo going to the gp as if it is b12 you need treatment not otc vitamins

imalmosthere · 15/01/2021 12:26

Get yourself to the Gp.
I work in a pharmacy, and any pharmacist would tell you it needs looking at by a doctor x

Im obviously going to get medical advise, just wanted to see if anyone else had had it and could shed some light.

Jeez Confused

Anyone on here can claim to be a GP and "diagnose" you. Please contact your GP.

You have multiple posts on mumsnet for health issues and you didn't state you were going to see your GP.

Be clearer in your OP that you're asking alongside GP appointment.

Jeez

I've spoken to my gp, thanks for all the help 🙄

With this and your other thread I would be wondering if you had a seizure overnight? Glad you spoke with your GP anyway.

RememberSelfCompassion · 15/01/2021 21:56

What did the gp suggest?

Tigger83 · 04/02/2021 16:10

What was it?!

weakpanda · 04/02/2021 17:08

@Juke1 was spot on. Go thought I'd jarred my neck in my sleep, even though it still hurt three weeks later.

Had a seizure early this morning and almost exact same things happened. My tongue is a lot more black/purple this time. Waiting for a referral to neurology

Gosh that sounds scary. Hope they can be on it.

Oh blimey! Sending good thoughts x
