Lovemusic33 · 14/01/2021 03:27

Been in pain all night, can't sleep. Feels like I've been kicked in tue stomach and back (possibly kidney), pain is all on the left hand side, feel a bit sick but no temperature, feel bloated.

Not sure if related to ongoing gynae issues or something completely different, possibly kidney infection. Im trying to get through the night and then call gp as soon as they open but feeling scared and tue nights going so slow.

Hope pain passes and you manage to get some sleep. I hope GP can help suggest something or call you in to be checked in the morning. Hope you feel better soon Thanks

Thank you, I managed to get an hours sleep after taking pain killers but the pains now back. Now clock watching until gp surgery opens. I really don't want to end up going to hospital because of covid, hospitals here are really busy and I don't want to pick ot up on top of what ever I already have.

OP, do you have any mint tea? If you have undiagnosed IBS this might help a little. Or Trey some antacid (agaves on, Rennie etc.)
Good luck!

DeliaOwens · 14/01/2021 06:03

Gaviscon

I do have mont tea, I will give it a go though pretty sure ots not IBS or taking ibroprofen would have probably made it worse? The pain is constant.

Bumping in hope someone’s awake that can offer advice..

I have been to the GP, rolled out kidney infection but conformed I have pain in that area, been told it’s probably not a kidney stone as the pain is constant and not coming in waves. Been told to wait 24 hours and if no improvement go back.

I’m feeling pretty rough, trying to home school and ignore the pain (which is impossible), I’m guessing if I’m still in pain tomorrow I will be sent for a scan.

Anyone else had similar symptoms or had constant pain with a kidney stone.

Hope you are doing ok @Lovemusic33. Hope you get some sleep tonight.

Lovemusic33 · 14/01/2021 19:26

I’m still not well, getting desperate for a answer so turned to google and my symptoms suggest pancreatitis...the constant pain in my stomach and back (high up, mainly left hand side), worse after eating, feels a bit gassy?

I will keep drinking plenty and call the gp back tomorrow.

Hope you get to the bottom of this with GP tomorrow and get some pain relief.
Horrible to go through day with pain but still have to get on and do stuff. Hope it gets sorted tomorrow

How are you feeling now? When I had a kidney stone the pain was only in the left side of my back. It was in waves but when the pain did come it was unbearable and I struggled to even talk..

Whereabouts is the pain in your stomach?

Lovemusic33 · 15/01/2021 08:46

I’m feeling a bit better this morning but very tired, the pain has lessened but is still there, pain is at the bottom of my ribs (back and front) and then just a dull ache in the middle of my stomach (bottom of ribs) and down lower. Feels like I have been kicked in several places. It does hurt more after eating. I’m going to see how it goes today as the pain is now more bearable and a lot less.

Maybe Senocalm IBS Relief & Prevention would provide relief?

DeliaOwens · 15/01/2021 20:28

Also, no bread, dairy or sugar today. Liquids only if you can manage (soup, clear broth and as much water as you can manage). Try to rest your digestive system. It might take another couple of days before you feel any better if it is a digestive thing.

Op I've had exactly this too - it's been going on and off for weeks now. Exactly as you've described. I got penicillin from NHS 111 but it came back straight after. I've had bloods and they show my inflammatory markers are really raised. Hope you find the cause, it's scary wondering with everything going on, I'm not sure I'd want to go into hospital 😕

Thank you, hope you feel better soon too. I still have the pain today but feeling less unwell. Using a hot water bottle seems to help. I’m hoping it will get better and I won’t need to go to hospital, at the moment I don’t think I’m unwell enough to warrant a trip to hospital so I’m going to sit it out for a few days.

I have exactly this! In agony since Wednesday, thought I had hurt my back, but pain became focused in right kidney area and abdomen. Slight temperature on Wednesday but nothing since. I have antibiotics but they appear to be doing nothing. Worried it is something sinister.

AmongUs · 16/01/2021 18:09

Hopefully it is just a temporary irritation of something and that it resolves itself.
Good to hear @Lovemusic33 that it's not so bad as it was so that is encouraging.

ladyapinks · 17/01/2021 07:02

Have this same pain too on the left side

I have had scans ,CT with contrast ,endoscopy and nothing has shown up.Poo tests for blood ,pylori and all the works

All bloods are fine too.No inflammatory markers are up but still scared as everything on google points to cancer.
I have asked another referal to gastro but GP says it won't be urgent as all my tests are fine .

Thinking of paying to go private as I am very worried now .

ozzcla · 17/01/2021 07:27

I suffered with this a few years back ended up in a&e a few times as sometimes felt like I couldn't breathe with it. Loads of tests etc turns out I have GERD gastro reflux disease. I was prescribed omperazole and it helps. Sometimes there is a bad flare up, but that's if I eat something that is a trigger to it. Hope this helps
