DS seems to have a really spotty bum and a few spots on his inner thighs. Am wondering if it's chicken pox but there's nothing as yet on his back or torso. They are little white head type spots. what do you reckon?

Mine didn't have spots that sound like that.
DD's first spot was on her hip (she was 4).
DS's first spot was on his head, just near his ear.
Then start off looking a little red and then blister (look like dew on a rose petal) with clear fluid. Then burst and crust.
Google images for chicken pox if you're brave enough.
My two had spots that were so clearly chicken pox there was absolutely no doubt that's what they had.

ok they don't look like the pictures I've just found. No redness around the spot, just lots of white heads. What else? Foot and mouth???

Again, ds had h,f&m last christmas and only had a couple of spots, again like blisters, on his hands.
Hmm. Not sure really. Is he well in himself otherwise?

he was sick last night and had pooey nappies on Wed. He has these tiny spots with little heads all over his hand, bottom and thighs but none anywhere else. The only hting that's been on his hand and his bum is baby wipes but they are the usual brand. Very confusing.

dd had hand foor and mouth and it started with a horrible nappy rash, then small blisters on hands and feet and horrendous blisters in her mouth

bugger, sounds like it might be that then. His mouth seems fine at the moment. Is there a treatment? Will see if I can get a doctor's appointment tomorrow

have looked it up, sounds exactly like what he's got, poor boy. Have put calomine lotion on the spots after his bath, thinking it might be chicken pox, that won't make it worse will it?

I'm sure it won't do anything other than soothe the area, as intended. But having dealt with the chick pox this ear, would recommend the calamine aqueous cream you can buy. I found it fantastic for the chick pox (didn't need it for ds's very mild h,f&M) because it is much less drying.
DS had an incredibly sore mouth which TBH was the major symptom apart from a few spots. Drooled and drooled and ate very poorly for a few days. Was rather crotchety too poor lamb.

my dd's first spot came out on her lower back.... i thought she had been bitten by an ant as it was raised and red raw surroundings, then 3 days later she had a few more on her front body.
