Spider nevi on boob? (Photo)

I've posted in women's health but didn't get much response and I am driving myself loopy what with the doctors being shut and having health anxiety.

I think what I have on my boob seems to be a spider nevi - it's about 1.5cm and red in the middle and purple bluish around the edge with tiny broken vessels. It disappears when pressed before returning. It appeared Christmas morning and was quite red to begin with.

I stupidly googled, as soon as you add the word breast it brings back research journals about cancer.

Has anyone else had similar and can reassure me?

I'm hoping someone sees this and can reassure me. This is it today. I sent a photo to my GP via the online appointment booking system. He then called and was not remotely interested and whilst couldn't give any suggestion on what it is, how to get rid of it or how he knows I shouldn't be worried, told me I don't need to come in.

I also nipped into the pharmacy while out shopping and the pharmacist was on lunch so a member of staff took my phone with the photos on to show her. She apparently said "keep doing what you're doing" (which isn't much!). Again, no suggestion on what it is.

It's about 1.5cm including the outer part of it and I have big boobs if that could play a part. It blanches when touched. Today is day 4, it's not as red but still there.

This is the fourth day of feeling anxious to the extreme, I think I'd feel better if one medical professional was able to look at it and tell me what they think it is!! I am beyond stressed and not enjoying my time off with my family.

Has anyone got any idea what this could be or had similar and can reassure me? Sorry for this desperate post. I'm at my wits end.

Thanks so much.

Hello, I also suffer from massive health anxiety, and can imagine that I would be going insane if this happened to me! I've just recovered from discovering a lump in my breast which turned out to be a cyst in the end! So I do understand your pain. Having said that this doesn't look like anything that I came across which related to breast cancer. It looks like the kind of thing which will probably go away in a few more days. Genuinely I probably will just keep an eye on it. Try and get a face-to-face appointment if you can, but honestly it doesn't look like anything to worry about at all. Plus the fact it Blanche is when you press on it is a really good sign.

I had a boob go a bit like this, it was diagnosed as mastitis although I wasn't breast feeding at the time it was just hormones. I do hope it gets better soon Daffodil

Thank you both so much for taking time to reply. It means so much, honestly. Sorry that you also suffer with health anxiety @Skyliner001 and I'm so pleased your concerns turned out to be something else. It's vile isn't it? I've had nervous tummy, shaking, feel cold, keep feeling pain there (which I'm sure is psychosomatic, think that's the right word?!)

thats really reassuring @AgathaChristiesFurcoat I'm not breastfeeding either but do have slightly loopy hormones. Thank you for sharing you experienced similar and what it turned out to be.

That's no problem, happy to reply! You are not alone in facing health anxiety. Sometimes I feel alone, and I am in the middle of a really bad bout of it at the moment, a proper lump hunt bout. Feeling proud of myself today because I have only had one lump hunt. Which for me is very good. Suffering from a small amount of anxiety tonight as I can feel a slight twinge in my breast where the cyst was.

Skyliner001 · 29/12/2020 17:38

I have definitely experienced psychosomatic pain and strange feelings. So that is definitely probably what you are feeling! When I am at my worst I was being physically sick, tingling hands and feet, shaking legs, headaches, fast pounding heart, and breathlessness. No fun

Skyliner001 · 29/12/2020 17:38

Really hope you get sorted soon😊

Op I have had something similar when my all-elbows DS has clambered all over me. I also have a large bust and I think my pale skin means any damage to the tissue really shows up. It doesn't look like anything concerning to me.

DayBath · 29/12/2020 17:46

Are you sure it's not the remains of a deep bruise finally coming to the surface? Have any kids or pets trampled over you, or can you remember bumping yourself on anything? I get marks very similar to this in my legs from my toddler. It hurts a lot when it happens but because my thighs are quite chubby the bruise takes up to a week to fully come to the surface.

DieCryHate · 29/12/2020 17:50

Thanks so much @Skyliner001 and I really hope you feel calmer and more assured too. It's horrible feeling this way isn't it.

Draw a line around it to see if its shrinking or spreading. Maybe take a pic every day so you have a better idea of progression. Highly doubt it's anything to worry about but perhaps having the records will make you feel more in control?

DayBath · 29/12/2020 17:52

Depending on location could it be a bra related injury - rogue underwire prodding your skin perhaps?

DieCryHate · 29/12/2020 17:54

@Grumpasaurus @DayBath thanks both. Good point about the pale skin/large bust scenario. I don't remember hurting myself but I am very clumsy, do have a toddler that likes to climb me and on Christmas Eve night in order to avoid carrying too much presents past said toddlers room I did two trips of stuff stacked in a plastic box that I probably had leaning into my chest.

This is really reassuring, thank you!

@DayBath I've been taking photos and don't think it's gotten bigger. It has faded from angry red to the bluey/purple, with only the very tiny centre still being red. I don't think it's bra wire related as it's on the real fleshy bit that's covered by the cup but I did uncharacteristically go to bed wearing my bra a few days before Christmas which I never normally do.

I had exactly that and convinced myself it was cancer. I went to the GP and she looked at it with a magnifying glass type of thing. It was veins. She took a photo of it on my phone through the magnifying thing so I could see it. It went after a week or so. Please get checked if you're worried though.

DieCryHate · 29/12/2020 18:24

Thanks @bobisbored mines really veiny too and like you my mind is going to worst case. All these responses have calmed me down though.

I'm going to try the doctors again tomorrow and ask not to be fobbed off again.

Grumpasaurus · 29/12/2020 18:36

Yes, op, I am fairly sure it's what I have had before with DS injuring me with his elbows, but do get it checked out.

I would just say on the phone you are concerned, have bad health anxiety, and need to be seen urgently for your mental health. You could also say you are concerned there is a lump (even if you aren't, it would get you seen).
