try nhs direct 088454647

Where's the blood? on her tonsils or just generally in her mouth? Don't panic. Give her a dose of calpol and see if that helps. There are lots of nasty virus around at the moment, the blood could just be caused by strain on her throat.

its on her tonsils with the white bits

When the white bits discharge they can bleed a little - just like happens sometimes if a spot pops. Hope your DD is feeling better soon.

have her an appointment for 9 30, looks like it is gonna be an antibiotics job AGAIN, this isnt good coz she had tonsilitus a few weeks ago and wouldnt take all her medicine so maybe this is why it came back

Glad you have an appointment for DD - hopefully this time she will finish the medicine. If she's reluctant this time then maybe a bribe of a very small bit of chocolate after each of the last few doses might help! It's amazing how small a piece will work as a bribe.

thanks flaming, will let u know how she gets on, its very strange coz shes acting fine in herself, u wouldnt know if it wasnt for her red little cheeks

Sounds like tonsilitis to me. The white spots are a sign of an infected tonsil, and the blood sounds normal too. Don't panic, just sounds as though she's got a throat infection, poor dab.

well doctor said she thinks its viral tonsilitus, not sure how they can tell between viral and bacterial, but hey, who am i to argue, so i have to keep an eye on her and if she gets worse tomoz take her back for AB's, oh and the "blood" was actually a vein because her tonsils are inflamed so im gonna be in for a loooooooooong day. thanks u wonderful lot for your help earlier

Glad the doctor was reassuring. It's easy to get confused when looking at a LO's tonsils especially when you are worried - glad it wasn't blood. You could try giving her small amounts of Manuka honey to suck off a spoon (not in hot water because that destroys the effect) because it's very soothing and it has both antiviral and antibacterial qualities. Hope she shakes it off quickly.

thnaks flaming shes still very hot but is okish in herself, i am now supervising fairycake making and decorating, but she keeps eating the icing lol

Glad she is recovering - I think just regard the icing as soothing on the throat!
