Thrush+Period+Caneston - TMI question

katepoleAxeToTheFloor · 23/10/2007 20:49

So, I buy a pessary today as my ignore it approach to thrush is not working. As soon as I get home, my period starts. Can I still use the pessary? Will it be effective with ahem other fluids up there too? Should I try and wait out my period - I am not sure I can .
Bl**dy annoying being a woman isn't it - the things you end up asking on the 'net...

It would probably flush it out a bit but its better than nothing so I would use it, see what happens and at the very least it will ease enough to cope with period and then you can use another one if comes back after? Don't use tampax or a moon cup if you have thrush tho - let it all go free'er if you can! Air that inner fadge!!!

CappuScreamO · 23/10/2007 20:51

you can use them with periods

but I've never trusted that they'll stay around long enough

give it a go, you can always whack anoter one up if it doesnt work

TheMadScaryHouse · 23/10/2007 20:55

You can get a tablet, can not remeber the name and they really work. saves the messy stuff re the pessary. Have been there and done that

"give it a go, you can always whack anoter one up if it doesnt work"

Quote of the week?? Lol, maybe not, don't want to draw lots of attention to this thread really...

Er, so, yes to the pessary (just at £7 a go, don't want to 'waste' one). No to tampons. I only have tampons. You can't really "air that inner fage" while on the blob surely?

TMSH - any recall on that tablet name - that would be great!

Ta ladies

Canesten do the tablet - its called Once.....go to the fadge section and have a look - its all there....

Really would be good to not use Tampax though....but your fadge at end of the day...

CrookshanksinJimmyChoos · 23/10/2007 21:01

I think its called once....

lomondgore · 23/10/2007 21:02

Diflucan once, its brilliant, no messy creams or pessarys.

You will feel better after a day or two

TheMadScaryHouse · 23/10/2007 21:03

Diflucan (fluconazole)

lomondgore · 23/10/2007 21:03

I would try to give tampons a miss for a couple of days, let it get a chance to clear up.

CappuScreamO · 23/10/2007 21:16

god yes no tampons

POTC · 23/10/2007 21:20

I actually find my thrush flares up more if I swap to towels instead of tampons

GreebosWhiskers · 23/10/2007 21:28

I get thrush every month for a week or so before my period & find that coming on settles it down again - seems to just be something to do with my cycle. Maybe if you can ignore it for another day or so it'll take care of itself? Then you can save the pessary for when it comes back again.

GarrottedbyElasticband · 23/10/2007 21:34

what is the fadge sction may i ask

CrookshanksinJimmyChoos · 23/10/2007 21:41

You know where all the creams and lotions are for anything fadge related - cystitis, thrush, for itches, for fishy fadges requiring fragrant wash - that kind of thing....

GarrottedbyElasticband · 23/10/2007 21:43

oh in the chemist

i thought it was a section on HERe
must have missed that one

CrookshanksinJimmyChoos · 23/10/2007 21:44

Lol!!!

Mind you, its amazing how many fadge products are out there now! Panty liners with wipes! Its like telling you to go and have sex isn't it really? Catch your drips, freshen up, throw it all away and then party with fit bloke.....
