Wound care advice needed for damp wound in skin fold

It’s only tiny. It’s where a staple was. All the rest have dried up and scabbed over.

But this is just under boob line. And it’s not drying up. I’ve put a bit of gauze over it to let it breathe and protect it at the same time. But unless I’m stood up or flat on my back it is always in a little crease. I don’t think it’s flab related, it’s more spaniel ear/ gravity related. 😖

What do l do with it? I had surgery 2 weeks ago and the rest are fine.

It'll take time.

Spend as much time as possible with the wound open to the air. Lie down etc when you can.

C section wounds are like this and they advise you to spend time lying with it open to the air as much as possible during the day.

Ahhh ok. Lots of lying down then?’ That’ll be hard...😁

Should l loosely cover it when I’m about? Just so when l sit down the 2 folds of skin touch?. I just take a bit if gauze down the sides but it’s open at top and bottom.

I used to wear massive cotton pants that were pretty much gauze and it seemed OK.

Are you wearing a bra?

I had a wound under boob and I used a folded sanitary towel / panty liner - unscented one . It keeps it dry and allows to heal . Worked very well
Obviously fold the sticky in on itself so it is not sticky and just the absorbent side showing

It’s not right under the boob. It’s bang in the middle between them, and there’s a little fold of skin when l sit down.

I couldn’t wear a bra over it at the moment.

Go to your pharmacist and they can advise you but otherwise buy a pack of 5 x 10cm Duoderm. You can cut them to shape. Change every 7 days, ie do not remove at all before then. If after 7 days there's no improvement, get further advice.

I'd use some medicated talc on there........it's what I used when I ended up getting stabbed by an errant bra wire. 🙄

Bra wire! Ouch!

Yes I’ll buy them. Might email doc tomorrow.

Thanks
